Unnoticed Charm

People stroll past this window everyday and very few likely stop in their tracks to stare; however when this somewhat forgotten space is frozen in this frame we find it hard to look away. Along this windowpane it’s not just the eye-catching pops of pink florals that draw our eyes, but the blend of green ivy that sparks to mind cottages of youthful storybooks and mythical fairy tales.

Les always had an eye for color. He could seek it out in any environment and his photos have never disappointed when it comes to vibrant details. Part of what made his photography so great was the way he was able to see and appreciate the beauty in forgotten everyday places. It is his eye for these small details that helped him capture images that hold the attention of each person who sees them.

From vine covered buildings to the glow of a setting sun, beauty really is everywhere. Perhaps that's why sometimes we can pass right by it without even turning our head. Our brains begin to filter bits out and we skip right over some of the gorgeous things right around us. That’s why we need the artists of the world to remind us that even when we don’t notice the beauty on our own, it is still there just waiting to be discovered.
